Funky Socks Day

Monday, March 21, 2016 is World Down Syndrome Day. We want to celebrate this event, which raises awareness about Down Syndrome and honors those who have Down Syndrome.

On that day we ask that all of our students and staff wear colorful, funky socks…even socks that aren’t matching! This is a symbol of the wonderfully unique gifts that Down Syndrome can bring to an individual, their family, their school and the community.

Each class will draw a student’s name to win a new pair of funky socks!

So… look in your sock drawer and choose the most outrageous and interesting socks you have! Wear them to school on Monday, March 21st and celebrate Down Syndrome with us!!

Organized by the Inclusive Practices Committee at Holy Family School (Ms. McDonald, Ms. Miles, Ms. J. Grandy, Ms. Baker)
